Surgery information

The surgery is located on Herbert Avenue, close to the Honda garage, please see map below. There are ample parking spaces at the rear of the surgery, with a couple of designated disabled spaces in front of the reception area. Disabled access is provided at the front of the Surgery and is clearly shown.

Registration

To register as a patient ask at reception for details. Newly registered patients will be invited for a consultation within 3 months of registering. If you wish to choose to see a particular doctor for some or all medical conditions, please let the receptionist know and she will note this in your medical records. We will always try to ensure that this is possible, but there may be occasions when it is not possible.

Attendance at surgeries

Patients should telephone for an appointment to be seen at the surgery during normal opening hours. All surgeries are pre-booked, i.e. there is no ‘open’ surgery. The Doctors normal days/hours of work are as follows:-

Extended opening (Saturday opening)

Healthstone Medical Ltd is a newly formed company comprising of Heatherview, Herbert Avenue and Madeira Medical Centres. For the benefit of all our patients, Healthstone Medical Ltd will be opened at Heatherview Medical Centre or Madeira Medical Centre on Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. This service commenced on Saturday 8th November 2008. The surgery will be closed for lunch from 12:00 - 12:30. Patients from Heatherview, Herbert Avenue and Madeira Medical Centres can book a Saturday appointment with a Doctor or Nurse by telephoning your own surgery in the normal way between Monday and Friday to request your appointment. If you require an emergency appointment on a Saturday, you will need to phone the surgery open on the day. The Out Of Hours service will continue to operate in the normal way. This service will be operated by local Doctors and Nurses. By making an appointment for a Saturday you are therefore giving consent for the staff working to have access to your clinical records.

Healthstone Medical Ltd is operating from Heatherview Medical Centre, and Madeira Medical Centre to provide you with a Saturday service. Please note that although we will be very pleased to treat you on a Saturday, we are unable to issue repeat prescriptions, register new patients or make future appointments. You should contact your own surgery between Monday and Friday for the above services.
